The government has confirmed details of what the UK’s point-based immigration system will look like: a revised version of our existing system which will apply equally to EU and non-EU citizens from 1 January 2021.

With only a few months until the new system comes into force, it is vital that businesses understand not only how the new system will operate, but also what their responsibilities will be if they are or decide to become sponsors.

In our breakfast briefing we will guide you through the new system, explaining who will be entitled to work in the UK from January 2021 under the points based system and what employers need to be aware of, whether they decide to sponsor workers or not.

Who should attend?

  • HR Advisors
  • Line managers
  • Business owners with a large EU workforce
  • Businesses that currently or intend to recruit from outside the UK
  • International businesses particularly with subsidiaries or part of a group which has companies in the EU.

What will be included in the session?

  • An overview of the new system
  • A comparison of how the new systems differ from our existing system
  • A look at how the new points system will operate
  • How the changes will impact recruitment
  • An overview of what other routes could be available for non UK nationals wishing to work in the UK
  • How right to work check process will change
